Police Investigating Nightclub Incident Following Commonwealth Games

MELBOURNE, Australia, March 27. ACCORDING to a report by Bloomberg News, Australian police are investigating the possibility that Joanne Fargus had a drink spiked at a recent nightclub gathering. The 200 backstroke champion at the recently concluded Commonwealth Games, Fargus was present at the Last Lap nightclub on March 25 when she began feeling dizzy and nauseous.

According to the Bloomberg report, the matter is being handled by the Victoria Police and forensic officers are involved. Fargus raced under the Australian flag at the latest Commonwealth Games, having represented England during the 2002 Games.
