Kentucky Blasts Impressive Swims at High School Champs

LEXINGTON, Kentucky. February 28. THE University of Kentucky hosted this year's high school state championships over the weekend of February 17th and 18th. There were two new state records, one individual and one relay, for each of this year's state champions.

On the men's side of the meet St. Xavier High School won with 366.5 points. Clark Burckle was its ace, winning the 100 breast in 55.83 and a new state record. He also won the 200 IM.

For the girls, Dupont Manual High School won the meet with 415.5 points and its 200 free relay broke the state record. Amanda Faulkner, Caroline Stephens, Heidi Hatteberg and Jenna Montgomery teamed up for a 1:38.14. It's no surprise this team won the meet as Faulkner also won the 200 IM and the 100 free, and Montgomery won the 100 back.
