Indiana Signees List Lengthens

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. January, 20. INDIANA head coach Ray Looze and the Indiana University swimming and diving program announced the signing of Frazier Miller (Louisville, Ky./Saint Xavier). He joins Kevin Happ (Hunting Valley, Ohio/University School), Christopher Head (Evansville, Ind./North), Chris Oleksiak (Greenwood, Ind./Center Grove), Jensen Ried (Cypress, Texas/Cypress Springs) and Drew Sease (Indianapolis, Ind./North Central) as part of the incoming class of 2006.

"Frazier Miller is from Louisville, Ky.," Looze said. "He is wonderfully talented and is a really good backstroker. He also has some butterfly and freestyle ability. I really like the way he is built. He has a long and lanky body and comes from a great club."

An All-American in both his sophomore and junior years, Miller led his team to three consecutive state and regional championships. During that stretch, Miller snared seven individual state titles while earning first team all-state as a sophomore and junior. Additionally, Miller is the state record holder in both backstrokes and the 100 fly. Meanwhile, Miller earned a national title at the 2005 Speedo Junior Championships in Irvine, Calif. His Lakeside Swim Team 200 medley relay claimed the crown at the event.

"I chose Indiana University because of its tradition and the future I see in the program," Miller said. "The team has the best coaches in the country and strong leaders on the team. It also has a great academic standard."

Away from the pool, the son of Maureen and James Miller snagged honor roll status in the classroom.
