Records Continue to Fall at ConocoPhillips Splash Club Meet of Champions

BARTLESVILLE, Oklahoma. January 14. RECORDS continued to fall on the 2nd night of the 55th Annual ConocoPhillips Splash Club Meet of Champions.

Less than a week after her return from the National Jr. Team Trip to Australia, 15 year-old Samantha Woodward of the Kerr McGee Swim Club broke one pool record, tied one, and just missed another. She started off the night braking the 200 IM record of Olympian Caroline Bruce with a time of 2:04.41 from 2004. She then tied the 200 fly record set in 1982 by Margaret Tretbar also from Wichita with a 2:01.80. In her final event of the evening, she went a solid 1:51.62. The men were lead again by 17 year-old JJ Helms from Conroe Area Team Swimmers from Conroe, TX. He won the 50 free with a 21.80, then went 1:53.98 in the 200 fly. He finished the night just missing the pool record in the 200 free with a time 1:40.97.
