Southern Methodist Women’s Classic on Tap for the Weekend

DALLAS, Texas, October 20. ONE of the biggest early-season invitationals will be held this weekend in the Lonestar State, as the Southern Methodist University Women’s Classic runs Friday and Saturday in Dallas. The event annually ranks as a top-flight showcase and will be held at the Perkins Natatorium.

The SMU Classic will feature the host school, Florida, South Carolina, Washington, Wisconsin and UCLA. Among the more notable names competing will be Florida’s Dana Vollmer, a freshman standout with the Gators. A 2004 Olympian, Vollmer earned a gold medal in the 800 freestyle relay, helping the United States to a world-record time.
