Phoenix, AZ. Swiminfo.com will become SwimmingWorldMagazine.com. This change is instrumental in the continued marketing efforts to fully integrate Swimming World Magazine’s brand.

Brent Rutemiller, CEO for Sports Publications International, publisher of Swimming World Magazine, which now includes SWIM Magazine, Swimming Technique magazine and Junior Swimmer magazine, said that the renaming of the website from SwimInfo.com to SwimmingWorldMagazine.com will have no impact on our loyal visitors.

Ervin's Gold Medal Auction Brings $17,100 for Tsunami Relief
Anthony Ervin Anthony Ervin Berkeley, CA. It’s official, Anthony Ervin is in search of an Olympic gold medal. The 23-year-old has also done his part in helping humanity.

As expected, Ervin auctioned his 2000 Olympic gold medal in the 50-meter freestyle on eBay, and the piece of hardware fetched $17,100 to provide aid to the tsunami relief effort. Upon seeing the devastation the tsunami caused in Southeast Asia, Ervin decided to lend a hand. His support was in auctioning a meaningful award.

Lenton is Sharp at Telstra Grand Prix
Brisbane, Australia. Less than three months before the World Championships get under way in Montreal, positive vibes are flowing through Australia, due in large to the efforts of Libby Lenton. The Olympian exited the Telstra Grand Prix, held Friday and Saturday, with a pair of victories and two second-place finishes.

Duel in the Pool Ready For a Second Run
Irvine, CA. While the World Championships will end July in splendid fashion, August is certain to get off to a sizzling spark, thanks to the second edition of the Mutual of Omaha Duel in the Pool, scheduled for Irvine, Calif.

The event, matching the World Championship teams of the United States and Australia in a dual-meet format, is scheduled for Aug. 2. When the United States and Aussies met two years ago, the Stars and Stripes came away with a dominating victory.

Babashoff Honored by USOC for Role in Anti-Doping Battle
Shirley Babashoff on the Cover of the September 1972 Issue of Swimming World Shirley Babashoff Phoenix, AZ. Long overdue recognition was awarded to Shirley Babashoff over the weekend, when the United States Olympic Committee presented the two-time Olympian with its Olympic Order. Babashoff was honored for speaking out against doping in swimming.
