Young Talent Takes Distance Titles at Speedo Champions Series Sectionals

CANTON, Ohio. March 16. The SPEEDO Champions Series continues this weekend in Canton, Ohio and at the U.S. Naval Academy in Maryland. Distance events were completed today at both venues.

In Maryland, at the Eastern Zone Southern Region Andrew Clark from NBAC took the 1000 freestyle in 9:25.68. Kegan Borland from GPac finished second in 9:28.68. On the women's side, fifteen year-old Caitlin Marssilii won the 1650 freestyle in 17:00.91 over Emily Tipton from NBAC with a time of 17:04.61.

At the Central Zone competition in Canton, Ohio, Nathan Williams won the 1000 in 9:26.51. He barely touched out Jeff Morris who finished in 9:26.68!

For the women, 14-year-old, Grace Fredlake from BAC won the 1000 in a swift 10:11.51. Haley Mitchell finished second with a 10:18.13.
