Young Michael Phelps Just Wanted an Olympic Gold Medal

PHOENIX, Arizona, March 31. THIS would be better suited as a Throwback Thursday video, but it is just too cool to hold onto until then. Here’s a quick pre-driver’s license interview with the Greatest of All Time Michael Phelps.

Surprisingly, a lot of the responses are still pretty standard from Phelps with him always simplifying questions down to “I just want lifetime bests, and I’m taking it day-by-day.” But, it is definitely interesting to hear Phelps talk about his long term goal being to win an Olympic gold medal. He achieved that and more, 18 times over.

There’s even a young Bob Bowman included in the video.
