We analyzed the nearly 3,000 articles posted online during the past year to come up with a synopsis of the 2010 Year in Review in January's issue. Additionally, Steven Munatones and Emily Sampl look ahead to 2011 for the rest of the aquatic sports. Meanwhile, senior writer John Lohn features Kosuke Kitajima in our cover story.

In SWIM, Sampl returns with a feature of Longhorn's Mike Varozza in the latest Lane Leader, while J.R. Rosania is back with dryside exercises that can help you burn calories and gain strength and conditioning.

Swimming Technique features the always impressive Michael J. Stott. Stott chats with Swimming World Elite Team Partner Tony Batis of Palo Alto Stanford Aquatics to see how he runs his club. Stott also reviews a four-DVD instructional video set entitled "Coaching the Developing Swimmer."

In Junior Swimmer, we provide the top 10 U.S. National Age Group rankings for short course yards, while Judy Jacob spans the country in American Relay.
