Xavier Girls Break National Independent School Record in 200 Medley Relay

TEMPE, Arizona, November 7. THE National independent school record in the 200 medley relay set in New Jersey by the Peddie School is no more. On Saturday at the Arizona 5A State Championships, Cimone Miller, Tiffany Elias, Nicole Lynch and Delia Cronin clocked in at a 1:44.98 bettering the 2004 mark of 1:45.03.

Another impressive swim came from Christine Olson of Mesquite who bettered the 1:02.88 record by six one-hundredths of a second to a 1:02.82 in the 100-yard breaststroke.

On the men's side, Buddy Turner from Horizon narrowly missed a state record in the 100 fly, tagging in at a 49.92 and blasted away to a speedy 20.6 in the 50 free.
