The Cowgirls beat North Texas 80-33 but lost to SMU 66-47. The Cowboys fell to SMU by a score of 141-99.

"I am very proud of the way both teams competed against two very good SMU teams tonight," said UW head coach Tom Johnson. "The women gave the tenth ranked team in the nation a great meet and the men battled hard against a team that was the first team left out of the top-25 poll. We had some great swims and will take a lot of positives from this meet. We didn't back down and went right at some great teams."

The Cowgirls took first place honors in three individual events and broke a school record in a fourth event. Sophomore Megan Evans, the reigning Mountain West Conference Swimmer of the Week, had another great day and won the 200 breaststroke (2:19.03) and broke the Wyoming 400 IM record with a second place finish (4:26.52).
