WOWSA Voting Is Coming Down To The Wire

HUNTINGTON BEACH, California. December 31. WITH less than 20 hours to go until the World Open Water Swimming Awards announcement, the votes of 17,447 people from 108 countries are continue to pile in.

The WOWSA Awards are given not necessarily to the best athletes, but is meant to honor the individuals who (1) best embody the spirit of open water swimming, (2) possess the sense of adventure, tenacity and perseverance that open water swimmers are known for, and (3) have most positively influenced the world of open water swimming in 2011.

Voting continues until midnight Los Angeles time on December 31st.
