World University Games Set to Begin

IZMIR, Turkey, August 10. ALTHOUGH the World Championships recently concluded, there’s another major international event on tap: The World University Games. The swimming portion of the competition is scheduled to run from Friday through Wednesday and will feature some of the top names in the sport, including Megan Jendrick.

The 2000 Olympic champion in the 100-meter breaststroke, Jendrick (formerly Quann) will be favored to win her pet event in Turkey. The former American-record holder in the two-lap distance, Jendrick nearly qualified for the World Champs, but settled for third place in the 100 and fourth in the 200 at the World Champs Trials.
