MANCHESTER, England, April 13. UKRAINE's Oleg Lisogor won the men's 50 breast title for the third time in four championship meets at the FINA World Short Course Championships.

The world-record holder, Lisogor clocked a time of 26.46 to win the event. That performance came up shy of his 26.17 global standard.

"I feel like a champion. I wanted to win and I made it," Lisogor told meet organizers. "The 50m is very interesting. Some swimmers go faster in the morning, some in the evening. I go faster in the final. It's just for myself. The 50m breast is not an Olympic race, so nobody is interested in my country."

Lisogor previously won the title in 2002 and 2006. The victory is the fourth for the Ukrainians as Dmytro Kraevskyy picked up the first title in 1999.

Mark Gangloff of the U.S. took silver with a time of 26.54, while South Africa's Cameron van der Burgh placed third in 26.67.
