World Cup Water Polo: USA Advances to Gold Medal Game

ATHENS, Greece – Gavin Arroyo scored with 44 seconds left in overtime Saturday to seal the United States’ victory over Russia and move his team to the finals against host Greece in the Water Polo World Cup. The United States outscored Russia 2-1 in the six-minute overtime after finishing regulation tied at 7-7. Wolf Wigo scored three goals for the Americans in regulation and Russia was led by Nikolay Kozlov’s two goals.
