Women’s Senior National Team Announces World League Super Final Water Polo Roster

HUNTINGTON BEACH, California, May 26. USA Women's Senior National Team Head Coach Adam Krikorian has announced the 15 player roster that will take part in the upcoming FINA World League Super Final in Kirishi, Russia June 9-14. In addition this group will take part in the FINA World League Prelims against Canada this weekend in Coronado, California and Newport Beach, California.

10 members of the 2008 Olympic Team were named to the squad led by team captain Brenda Villa. Joining Villa is veteran and three-time Olympian Heather Petri. Alison Gregorka, Betsey Armstrong, Jaime Komer (Hipp), Brittany Hayes, Elsie Windes, Jessica Steffens, Kami Craig, and Lauren Wenger also earned a Silver Medal a year ago in Beijing, China, are headed to Russia. 2004 Olympian Kelly Rulon returns to the National Team scene and joining her to round out the roster is 2008 alternate Erika Figge, Annika Dries, Lauren Silver, and Tanya Gandy.

This group will be in action this Thursday at the USA Water Polo National Training Center in Los Alamitos, CA when they take on Canada at 7:30pm. Official FINA World League Prelims begin on Saturday when Team USA and Canada do battle again at the Brian Bent Memorial Aquatics Complex in Coronado, California at 6pm. The two teams will get together again the following day at Corona del Mar High School in Newport Beach, California at 4:30pm. Tickets for all games are on sale now at usawaterpolo.org.
