Wochomurka Hired As Louisville Assistant

LOUISVILLE, Kentucky, April 21. RYAN Wochomurka, a 21-time All-American at Auburn University, has been hired as an assistant coach at Louisville. He joins the staff of head coach Arthur Albiero, who also added Rachel Komisarz recently as a volunteer assistant. Wochomurka replaces David Walden, who is pursuing a career in the finance field.

"The addition of Ryan Wochomurka to our coaching staff marks yet another major leap for our program," Albiero said. "Ryan's experience as part of the U.S. National Team and also as a member of the NCAA Championship team at Auburn, add a great competitive edge to our program at U of L. He is a proven winner."

During his competitive career at Auburn, Wochomurka helped the Tigers win three NCAA championships and was a member of the title-winning 200 and 400 freestyle relays at the 2004 NCAA Championships. His career also featured Southeastern Conference records in the 100-meter and 100-yard free events. He was an eight-time SEC champion.

"I am extremely honored and eager to be joining the staff at Louisville," said Wochomurka. "What an exciting time to be joining a program, athletic department, and university which is dedicated to excellence in and out of the pool. I am looking forward to seeing some fast swimming coming from the best college sports town in America."
