Winn Aung, 12, of Redding Swim Team took down two 11-12 National Age Group records at the Summer Sanders Long Course Invitational in Roseville, California.

Aung broke the 200-meter free record in the prelim session, busting out an incredible 2:00.11. Perhaps the most impressive part of Aung’s swim was his splitting. He blazed the first 100 in 58.70 and came home in an equally solid 1:01.41.

Matthew Hirschberger originally set the record in 2011 at 2:00.88. Aung followed up his record-breaking swim with a slight add at finals, going 2:01.30.

After taking down the 200-meter free, Aung conquered the 200-meter fly NAG record the next day. After a terrific prelims time of 2:14.85, he pulled out a 2:12.91 at finals to crush the original record by 1.49. The record was held jointly by Ryan Murphy (2008) and Seth Say Woo Chun (2013).

Again, Aung showed remarkable splitting in his historic 200-meter fly. He took the race out in a 1:05.50 and returned in a speedy 1:09.35.
