SOUTH BEND, Ind., August 25. HEADING into her first season as the head coach of the women's program at Notre Dame, Carrie Nixon has named Joel White as an assistant coach. White competed collegiately at Wisconsin-Milwaukee and is a former assistant at Utah. White also has experience working with summer programs at the University of Texas.

“We are very happy to have Joel as a part of our coaching staff,” Nixon said. “He brings a great attitude to the program, knows a lot about swimming and his coaching strengths and knowledge complement mine very well. I know he will do a great job with the team.”

White's background includes a coaching stint at Homestead High in Wisconsin, where he produced five individual state champions and a pair of relay titlists. As an athlete at Wisconsin-Milwaukee, White was a nine-time conference finalist.
