What’s in store for … November!

November will be our de facto Open Water issue as Swimming World Magazine will include a recap of the RCP Tiburon Mile by P.H. Mullen as well as coverage of the Maui Channel Swim and the La Jolla Rough Water Swim. Additionally, we feature one of the meteoric rising stars in the sport – Chloe Sutton. Jeff Erwin, this year's FINA Open Water Masters Gold Medalist, also gives his insight on training for open water competitions.

In other articles, we name our top 10 LSCs (Local Swimming Committees) as well as an Oene Rusticus feature of newly-minted world-record holder Britta Steffen. Hideki Mochizuki, our Japanese correspondent, will educate our readers on the structure of Japansese swimming.

In SWIM, we will bring you more notes on the FINA World Masters Championships, as well as announce the 2007 ISHOF Masters Inductees. Meanwhile, P.H. Mullen debuts another Survive and Thrive, while Jim Press of Toyota is featured as well. Wayne Goldsmith also will write a piece on training the mature athlete.

In Swimming Technique, Dave Denniston talks to University of Texas head coach Kim Brackin and learns how Kirsty Coventry trains. USA Swimming's Sport Science Director Genadijus Sokolovas discusses energy system training.

The always present American Relay, Swimmers of the Month and GoldMinds with Wayne Goldsmith comprise the bulk of Junior Swimmer. Additionally, Kari Lydersen shines the spotlight on Tampa Bay Aquatics.

Throughout the issue, Glenn Mills is back with technique specific spreads that include underwater work with world-record holder Brendan Hansen.
