VOLS LEAD MEDLEY RELAY

The University of Tennessee qualified first in the 200 meter medley relay in the first event of Day Two of the men's NCAA Swimming and Diving Championships in Minneapolis. The team of Michael Gilliam, Jeremy McDonnell, Raphael Thuin and Chris Hussey clocked 1:35.86, setting a new US Open record.
Texas qualified second in 1:36.20 followed by Arizona at 1:36.40.
Rounding out the top eight were California (1:36.60); Stanford (1:37.43); Minnesota (1:37.79); Auburn (1:37.93) and North Carolina State (1:38.17).
B finalists are Florida, Penn State, Arizona State, Hawaii, USC, Nebraska, Virginia, Georgia.
Awesome splits were turned in by Virginia's Ed Moses in the breaststroke (25.91) and Cal's Anthony Ervin in the free (20.46).
