(Video Interviews) Emma Muzzy and Olivia Bray Reflect on First National Meet

Emma Muzzy and Olivia Bray are racing at their first National meet after competing at Olympic Trials this past summer.

The teammates compete for the Virginia Gators, who brought eight athletes to this meet. Muzzy noted how her teammates are like family.

Muzzy placed fourth in the women’s 400 IM with a time of 4:08.37. The high school junior entered the meet seeded fourteenth, dropping over five seconds from her personal best.

She talked about her experience at Trials this past summer and her love-hate relationship with the 400 IM.

Bray took seventh in the women’s 100 fly A final in a time of 52.96, a new personal best. This was her first National final.

She also took fifth in the C final of the women’s 100 back, stopping the clock in 54.77.

The 14-year-old said how her Trials experience helped her at this meet and discussed her special relationship with Olympian Misty Hyman.
