MINNEAPOLIS, Minnesota, November 15. THE 200 freestyles were the highlight of competition last night at the Minneapolis Grand Prix, and Swimming World spoke with the men’s and women’s winners of those races.
First, Yannick Agnel spoke about racing in short course yards for the first time and how it felt to be one of the fastest in history. He also discusses training at North Baltimore and the advice Michael Phelps gave him before his race.
Romano, the American record holder in the 200-yard freestyle, talked about taking time off after the world championships, and how she was able to swim fast in yesterday’s finals after a shaky prelim swim.
Our thanks to Swimming World special correspondent Chelsea White for these interviews.
