Ryan Murphy put up a pair of solid wins in the 100 and 200 back over the weekend at the TYR Pro Swim Series meet in Atlanta. Saturday night, he touched out Ryosuke Irie, 53.24 to 53.26, to win the 100 back, and after the race, he assessed his weekend.

Murphy explained how his results from the World Championships, where he took the silver in both the 100 and 200 back, bothered him and continue to bother him, and he explained how he has channeled that frustration into his training.

Murphy also discussed how important it has been to develop hobbies, like cooking, now that he is out of school, and, as a bonus, the avid Jacksonville Jaguars fan broke down the contract extension recently given to quarterback Blake Bortles.

He will NEVER forget what those losses felt like. What a great impetus to carry him to three more gold medals in 2020 and the hard hard work needed to accomplish history.
