Video Interview: Open Water 10K Champion Andrew Gemmell Did All The Little Things Right to Win

CASTAIC LAKE, California, June 13. TODAY, NCAP’s Andrew Gemmell did what he needed to do today to win the U.S. 10K title and secure a spot on the Pan Pacific Championships team during an incredible swim at the USA Swimming Open Water National Championships.

Swimming World’s own Griffin Scott caught up with Gemmell after his impressive victory. Gemmell talks about how open water is all about doing the little things right, saving your energy for the end, and staying out of physical contact whenever you can.

Gemmell also talks about how he was able to prepare better this year after taking some time off after last summer. He returned immediately to training after the 2012 Olympics, and felt that hurt him in the 2013 season.
