AUSTIN, Texas, March 30. TEXAS’ Michael Hixon, who isn’t a platform diver with any regularity, said he “was a platform diver today” at the NCAA Division I Men’s Championships.

Hixon, a freshman who earned Diver of the Meet after sweeping the springboard events, is more focused on springboard since that’s his best chance to make an international team, knew he needed to pull in team points on tower for the Longhorns. So, he put himself in the mindset of never thinking differently than just “I’m a platform diver today.”
