IRVINE, California, August 10. MELANIE Margalis had been having a great meet at the USA Swimming nationals, but did not expect to put together a winning 200 IM, especially with Olympic bronze medalist Caitlin Leverenz in the field.

In this video interview, she talked about the work she’s put in since the end of the college season, and the self-talk she gave herself after the backstroke leg, with Leverenz’s renowned breaststroke looming.
