Stanford’s Maya DiRado has a super successful meet with a trio of individual wins at the 2016 Arena Pro Swim Series Orlando.

She talked with the media following her third victory, the 200 IM, tonight.

Stanford’s Maya DiRado won her third title of the meet with a sizzler in the women’s 200-meter IM at the 2016 Arena Pro Swim Series Orlando.

DiRado hit the wall in a scorching 2:10.77 to move to third in the world behind Katinka Hosszu’s 2:07.69 from earlier today and Sakiko Shimizu’s second-ranked 2:10.51. DiRado’s previous best this year had been her prelim 2:13.65.

Saint Petersburg’s Melanie Margalis raced her way into second in the finale with a time of 2:11.72 to move to third in the world, while BlueFish’s Elizabeth Beisel took third in 2:12.43 for seventh in the world rankings in what was a truly fast final heat.

Trojan’s Yuliya Efimova, a breaststroke specialist, even moved into the action with a fourth-place 2:12.96 to move into the top 15.

NCAP’s Katie Ledecky smashed her lifetime best of 2:15.10 with a 2:14.36 for fifth overall.

Vietnam’s Vien Nguyen (2:16.36), Gator’s Hilda Luthersdottir (2:16.93) and Irish’s Emma Reaney (2:17.50) also competed in the finale.

SSST’s Stina Gardell won the B final in a time of 2:15.899. Theresa Michalak placed second in 2:16.44.
