GOLD COAST, Australia, August 21. ABOUT two weeks ago, David Plummer was lamenting that his fourth-place finish in the 100 back at the U.S. nationals was not good enough to earn a spot on the Pan Pacific team. But he was picked to travel to Australia, and the good fortune turned even luckier tonight with a berth on next year’s world championship team.

Plummer talked about the fast B final swim he had in Australia and talks about the relief of now swimming in one meet (world championships) instead of two (worlds and Pan American Games).
