IRVINE, California, August 7. MINUTES after posting a U.S. Open record in the 200 breaststroke at the USA Swimming nationals, Kevin Cordes talked about the swim that puts him third in the world for 2014.

A highlight of the swim was a 32.9 on the third 50, which continued to set him up for a sub-2:08 swim. He talked about the steps he’s taken in training, and how the crowd helped him after 100 meters to keep pushing the pace.
