Video Interview Katie Ledecky Considers Everything A Sprint

INDIANAPOLIS, Indiana, June 17. NATION'S Capital's Katie Ledecky talks about finding the sprinter in her for the 200 freestyle at the 2013 US Swimming nationals. She finished second behind Missy Franklin in the event. Ledecky also comments on the conspicuous absence of American Record holder Allison Schmitt, who failed to qualify for the finals of the event after a surprisingly slow preliminary swim.

Women's 200 freestyle recap: Team USA's darling Missy Franklin picked up her second title of the meet with a blistering effort in the women's 200-meter freestyle event, at a 1:55.56. Franklin posted the second-fastest time in the world this year, while being out under world-record pace at the 50-meter mark.

NCAP's Katie Ledecky earned herself a second individual swim after winning the 800-meter freestyle last night as Ledecky charted a 1:57.63 for second. It wasn't as fast as her eighth-ranked season best of 1:56.93 from the Mesa stop of the Arena Grand Prix, but it was plenty fast enough for the second swim in Barcelona.
