IRVINE, California, August 7. THURSDAY night was a special one for Kathleen Baker as she qualified for her first major international team. Baker swam a time of 2:10.42 in the women’s 200 back, good for second behind Missy Franklin, and she will now go to Australia with the senior national team for the first time. In an interview afterwards, the SwimMAC Carolina product showed some incredible excitement to be on the team and also seemed surprised that her first major team came in the 200 back.
