Kentucky sophomore Bridgette Alexander captured the first National title of her career Friday night when she won the women’s 100 back in 52.53. She returned Saturday morning for her best event, the 200 back, and she posted the top time in prelims with a 1:52.92.

After that race, Alexander recapped her strong performances this weekend and explained why she came to Atlanta just two weeks after competing at the Ohio State Invitational. Alexander also discussed training with a strong backstroke group at Kentucky that includes reigning 200 back NCAA champion Danielle Galyer, what she took away from swimming in the 200 back final at Olympic Trials and what the Wildcats hope to accomplish this season.
