MESA, Arizona, April 25. WINNING the 200 backstroke at the Arena Grand Prix in Mesa, Ariz., meant a lot for Arkady Vyatchanin, who dedicated the race in this video interview as a birthday present for his 4-year-old niece.

Though he was happy to get the win on his niece’s birthday, he wasn’t extremely happy with the result, saying he wanted to be a second faster. He said the race felt the same as in Orlando in February, where he swam much faster than tonight.
