UVA’s Leah Smith Wins Mile At NCAAs, “I Enjoy It When It’s Over” – Video Interview

GREENSBORO- UVA’s Leah Smith went off at NCAAs this year. She set the NCAA record in the 500 free (4:30.37) then owned the pool throughout the 1650 free (15:34.46). Her confidence was bolstered going into the mile, after taking the title in the 500. Smith will compete in her first open water event in April, then has a busy summer- traveling to World University Games in South Korea and onto World Championships in Kazan, Russia.

Here she chats with Swimming World about making UVA history, how proud she is of her teammates, and her strategy going into the mile.
