USC Fares Well in First Day of Trojan Diving Invite

LOS ANGELES, California, November 3. USC senior Kenny Jenkins won the men's 1-meter and 3-meter springboard events while a pair of Hawaii women's divers won the women's events on the first day of the Trojan Diving Invitational at USC's McDonald's Swim Stadium on Friday.

Jenkins, looking to build on his NCAA Championships debut as a junior last season, won the men's 1-meter springboard with a 315.55, edging Hawaii's Mats Wiktorsson (310.70). In the 3-meter, Jenkins won with 346.50, again out-scoring Wiktorsson (335.65). USC senior Michael Hilde was third in both.

Hawaii's Megan Farrow won the women's 3-meter springboard with 322.95, well ahead of second place Amanda Blong of UCLA (278.45). Farrow's teammate, Emma Friesen, won the 1-meter with 286.60, easily ahead of UCLA's Marisa Samaniego (265.00).

USC freshman Alexis Demond was USC's highest women's diver in both events.
