USA Women Lead After Day One of Super Finals

COSENZA, Italy, July 26. THE USA women’s senior national water polo team closed day one of the FINA World League Super Finals in Cosenza, Italy on Wednesday with flying colors. Team USA downed Netherlands, 14-7, with a come-from-behind triumph.

Meanwhile, Russia downed Canada, 12-8, while Australia defeated Italy on penalty shots, 6-5, in an 8-8 tie.

The Americans lead with nine points, while Italy holds second with seven points and Russia is in third with six points.
