USA Swimming Sectionals, Gresham: Freestyle, IMs Make Up Third Night

GRESHAM, Oregon, July 21. THE third night of long course meter swimming at the USA Swimming Sectionals held in Gresham featured primarily freestyle and IM competition.

Sun Devil's Leticia Lelli dominated the women's 200 free in 2:01.72, while North Jeffco's Abigail Houck took second in 2:04.19. Colorado Stars' Jordan Mattern earned third in 2:04.80.

Kamehameha's Ian Wheeler touched out Corvallis' Jacob Pebley, 1:53.45 to 1:53.58, for the men's 200 free title. Sun Devil's Ryan Dignan placed third in 1:55.54.

Ashlea Gierke cruised to the women's 400 IM victory in 4:53.54, while DU Hilltopper Alexandra Suppan finished second in 4:57.79. Issaquah's Kathryn Kinnear wound up third in 4:58.19.

Pebley podiumed twice this evening by winning the men's 400 IM in 4:27.67. North Jeffco's Nolan Tesone took second in 4:28.06, while Mighty Marlin Trevor Levalley placed third in 4:32.10.
