USA Swimming Sectionals, Greensboro: Lakeside Wins Final Four Events, But Dynamo Claims Team Crown

GREENSBORO, North Carolina, July 15. LAKESIDE captured wins in the final four events of the meet, but it wasn't enough to overtake Dynamo Swim Club for the overall team title. Dynamo won the meet with 1,224 points, ahead of Lakeside (1,007) and Duke Aquatics (589).

Dynamo's Kylie Stewart picked up another win with a commanding victory in the women's 100m free. Stewart won by almost a full second, touching in 57.38. Her teammate, Kathleen Cook, placed second in 58.33, with City of Charleston's Micah Bohon in third (58.78). SwimAtlanta's Brent Murray added the 100m free title to his win in the 50m free earlier in the meet with a 50.72, well in front of Swim Florida's Kyle Ficker (52.53). Dynamo's DJ Boutte' garnered third with a 52.91.

Riptide's Keenan Lineback turned in the fastest time in the women's 1500m free with a 17:23.63. Lakeside's Kelsey Buese swam a 17:30.03 for second, followed by Dynamo's Kylie Stewart in third (17:36.64).

After finishing third last night in the 100m breast, Silver Bullet Elite's Jake Matysek moved up two spots on the podium to first with a 2:21.03. Teammate Maxim Litvinov finished right behind in 2:22.23, while Duke Aquatics' Garrett House wound up third in 2:25.08. The women's 200m breast title went to SwimAtlanta's Madison Horton, as she pulled away from the field the last 50 and touched first in 2:41.53. Ellie Grimes of Lakeside swam a 2:42.86 for second, while Manuel Sampaio took third (2:43.41).

In the men's mile, Travis Morrin of Mount Pleasant had the quickest time at 16:19.14. Jacob Vosburgh of Duke Aquatics turned in a time of 16:25.27 for second, while Dynamo's Michael Kenney was third (16:26.68).

Asia Seidt of Lakeside took home her first title of the meet with the top time in the women's 200m back, a 2:17.76. Emily Ranzau of Dynamo finished two seconds back in 2:19.76, with North Carolina's Rebecca Brooks in third at 2:20.73. Robert Leisure made it a sweep for Lakeside with a 2:06.30 to win the men's event. Nicholas Salyers of SwimAtlanta got second in 2:07.61, while Michael Scheid of Lakeside took third in 2:08.09.

Lakeside wrapped up a successful meet with wins in both the women's and men's 4x100m medley relays. Asia Seidt, Kennedy Lohman, Sarah Love and Brooke Bauer turned in a 4:22.06 in the women's event, while Michael Scheid, Connor Lohman, Cole Buese and Brian Habacivch took top honors in the men's race with a 3:57.26.
