USA Swimming Sectionals, Cleveland: Relay Meet Records Falls on Final Night

CLEVELAND, Ohio, July 24. THE final night of the USA Swimming Sectionals held in Cleveland featured a meet record taking a tumble.

Ohio State's Kelsey Moran, Jacqueline Brousseau, Shannon Draves and Megan Detro snared the women's 400 medley relay meet record in 4:13.52. That swim beat the 4:14.96 set by Club Wolverine back in 2009. In other relay action, Spartan's Jacob Jarzen, Nicholas Roberts, Bryan Williams and Josh Geschwendt won the men's 400 medley relay in 3:50.97.

Ohio State's Angela Severn topped the women's 200 IM in 2:19.12, while Greater Toledo's Carly Harter took second in 2:20.81. Ohio State's Emily Creran placed third in 2:20.96. Spartan's Jacob Jarzen claimed the men's 200 IM in 2:04.09 while teammate Nicolas Roberts touched second in 2:09.03. Ohio State's Garrett Trebilcock took third in 2:09.15.

Ohio State's Kelly Baird cruised to victory in the women's 1500 free in 17:05.72, while Greater Toledo's Rachel Johnson finished second in 17:21.24. Greater Toledo's Claire Leighty picked up third in 17:27.88. Dayton Raider Clifford Goertemiller, 16, captured the men's 800 free in 8:24.92. Spartan's Bradley Gillilan (8:26.91) and Club Wolverine's Zachary Kelch (8:29.57) completed the podium.

Ohio State's Megan Detro hit the wall in 56.37 to win the women's 100 free in 56.37. Greater Columbus' Mary Kate McNeilis placed second in 57.77, while Greater Toledo's Carly Harter wound up third in 58.18. Lake Erie's Ian Stewart-Bates grabbed the men's 100 free in 51.99. Greater Toledo's Michael Disalle took second in 52.58, while SwimStrongsville's Michael Meldon picked up third in 52.63.
