Kensey McMahon has given her verbal commitment to swim for the University of Alabama. McMahon is a US Junior National Team member who trains with Bolles. She is a rising senior at Mandarin High School in Jacksonville, FL where she is a USA Swimming Scholastic All-American.

McMahon is a distance swimmer who has had pool and open water success. Some of her best SCY times are:

  • 200 Free 1:49.42
  • 500 Free 4:49.78
  • 1650 Free 16:16.88

At the 2017 SEC Championships her best 1650 time would have finished eight. Alabama junior Mia Nonnenberg touched seventh. She’ll have graduated by the time McMahon makes the move to Tuscaloosa. The Crimson Tide did not have anybody else score in that event, making McMahon a valuable addition to the program.

At the 2016 Florida 4A High School state championships, McMahon was the runner up in the 200 freestyle, finishing in her current life time best time. She also touched third in the 500 freestyle, registering another best.

At the 2017 US Open Water Nationals McMahon finished 17th in the 5K and 24th in the 10K. McMahon was on the 11 swimmer Team USA roster at the 2016 FINA World Junior Open Water Championships.

She joins Bolles’ Jake Adcock and Ariel Spektor in making early verbal commitments.
