“United We Swim” Tops $40,000

OCT. 16. RICK Curl, head coach of the Curl-Burke Swim Club, announced today that Curl-Burke had raised "over $32,000" in its "United We Swim" campaign to aid the victims of the September 11 terrorist attacks.

Some 216 swimmers participated in the fund-raiser, swimming a total of 324 miles. Olympic gold medalist Tom Dolan topped all swimmers with just over 20 miles. National 5K champ Rachael Burke logged 11 miles.

In addition, 16 other teams participated in "United We Swim," raising $8,100.
