UC Irvine Hosts Day One of Lincoln Aquatics Shootout

IRVINE, California, November 3. THE Lincoln Aquatics Shootout at Anteater Pool concluded day one of the event at Anteater Pool. The event features teams from nine schools competing in dual meets, with the top teams facing one another in more dual meets Saturday. The Anteater women's team advanced to the championship pool with a 2-1 record in dual meets Friday. UCI will be joined by Hawaii, UC Davis and San Diego in the main pool for the women. On the men's side Hawaii, Air Force and UC Davis will compete in the top pool with the Anteaters meeting Cal State Northridge and Cal Poly.

Friday's action was highlighted by Anteater junior Randall Tom. Tom set a new UCI record with a time of 47.74 in the 100 fly. Tom also had the fastest times of the day in the 200 fly (1:48.20) and the 200 breast (2:05.44). Randall Tom's time of 47.74 is an NCAA "B" cut time.
