MINNEAPOLIS – SwimMAC’s Tyler Clary had a tough night with a 200 free, 400 IM double at the Arena Grand Prix in Minnesota.

Clary took third in the 200 free to start the night with a 1:34.97, before winning an epic battle with NBAC’s Conor Dwyer, 3:41.40 to 3:41.54, in the men’s 400 IM.

Clary’s first thought about the 400 IM was “Ouch!” as he spoke with Swimming World in Minneapolis.   He also called out Dwyer for not having a full November beard.

Clary also touches on training for World Short Course Championships, what he’s grasped under who he calls an underrated coach in David Marsh, and what he’s looking forward to the rest of the meet.
