Truman State vs. Iowa

IOWA CITY, Iowa. October 9. THE University of Iowa men’s and women’s swimming team won their first dual meet of the 2009-10 season in Kirksville, Missouri against the Truman State Bulldogs. The Hawkeyes swept the Bulldogs 182-78 after winning every race except the 200 butterfly.

The Hawkeyes started off strong with the men and women both winning the 200 medley relay. The women’s team of Danielle Carty, Katarina Tour, Grace Borchers and Julie DeBriun beat the third place Truman State team by four seconds with a time of 1:46.69. The men’s team of Max Dittmer, Sean Hagan, Byron Butler and Ryan Phelan took after the women and beat the third place Truman State team by nearly seven seconds.
