TUCSON, Arizona, October 7. Taylor Garcia, the 21st-ranked recruit in the class of 2015 and second-best in the state of Michigan in Collegeswimming.com‘s rankings, has verbally committed to the University of Arizona.

Garcia attends Holland High School in Holland, Mich. and swims with Byron Center, and she should make a big impact right away in her freshman year with the Wildcats. Her best event is the 100 back, where she’s posted a personal best of 52.07, which would have qualified 11th at last year’s NCAAs. Her 200 back time of 1:55.85 also would’ve placed among the top 40 at NCAAs, while her 100 fly (53.69) would’ve placed 45th.

Her butterfly and backstroke times should give the Wildcats several different medley relay options in both the 200 and 400 events.
