China continued to excel in the fourth leg of the FINA Diving World Series 2015 by winning 7 out of the 10 events contested at the Aquatics Centre in London from May 1-3. On the last day, Great Britain’s favourite Tom Daley triumphed in the 10m platform with 554.05 point. Two Chinese divers, Yang Jian and Qiu Bo, secured the second and third spots. The remaining non-Chinese victories went to Canada, Great Britain and Russia.

On Day 2, London 2012 silver medallist Evgeny Kuznetsov of Russia took gold in a high scoring, high quality men’s 3m springboard (519.40) while Patrick Hausding (GER) and Yuan Cao (CHN) respectively ended up second (519.35) and third (516.35) on the podium. It was the first gold medal of the London event to go to a non-Chinese diver.

In the women’s events Shi Tingmao, 23, made it two golds in two days, adding the individual 3m springboard title to the 3m synchro springboard, with Wu Minxia, on Day 1. Shi, who has won every round of the World Series, scored 374.35 points for a comfortable victory over compatriot Wang Han who took silver with 366.90 points.

Roseline Filion (CAN) moved ahead to take her first ever gold medal in a World Series in the 10m event (379.15). She was followed by Liu Huixia (CHN, 378.70) and Tonia Couch (GBR, 357.80).

The mixed 3m synchro springboard was won by China’s Wang Han and Yang Hao. The pair, who scored 336.90 points, also won the event in Kazan. Silver went to Jennifer Abel and Francois Imbeau-Dulac of Canada with 309.60 points and an unexpected bronze to the British pair of Grace Reid and James Heatly who finished with 299.76 points.

80 elite divers from 12 countries took part in this event which was held in the same venue used at the London Olympic Games three years ago.
