Three Israeli Records Fall at Summer Nationals

NATANIA, Israel, August 5. THREE Israeli records fell on the second day of swimming at the country's summer nationals held at the Wingate Institute.

Danni Melnik clocked a 1:02.16 in the men's 100 breast to break Tom Beeri's national mark of 1:02.42 set at the 2008 Beijing Olympics.

Meanwhile, Guy Barnea clocked a 1:58.99 in the men's 200 back for the win. That performances also lowered the 1:59.22 national standard set by Yoav Gath in 2003, and gave Barnea a clean sweep of the backstroke records.

Finally, Ana Volchkov touched in 2:14.89 in the women's 200 back. That swim broke the 2:14.92 set by Anna Gostomelsky in 2007.
