The Morning Swim Show Starts Week With Visit From Misty Hyman

PHOENIX, Arizona, January 21. THE first full week of The Morning Swim Show started today with an interview in the Ready Room with 2000 Olympic gold medalist Misty Hyman. The show is available here.

Hyman spoke with host Brent Rutemiller about how she came to spend three years working at a resort in the U.S. Virgin Islands as preparation for a career in hotel management. She also talked about her current studies in Switzerland, where she is working toward a master's degree in business.

During the interview, Hyman reminisced about the two high school national records she set in 1997, one of which still stands, and her coach Bob Gillet's emphasis on specialization.

Finally, Hyman analyzed her thoughts and actions during her historic upset over Australian Susie O'Neill at the Sydney Olympics.

"I felt I was geared up to have the best race of my career at the Olympic Games," Hyman said. "It was the ultimate zone experience."
