The Morning Swim Show, Sept. 10, 2009: Chuck Wielgus Discusses USA Swimming’s Growth from 2009 ASCA World Clinic

FORT LAUDERDALE, Florida, September 10. CHUCK Wielgus, executive director of USA Swimming, talks about the reasons why more people registered with the organization in the year since the Beijing Olympics in this edition of The Morning Swim Show from the 2009 ASCA world clinic.

Wielgus talks with host Garrett McCaffrey about the membership upswing since Beijing, attributing some of it to Michael Phelps and the rest to the natural increase in members after the Olympics. He also discusses some of the ways a Chicago bid for the 2016 Olympics could continue to grow the sport, and how swimming can continue to see an increased exposure through ideas from other sports.
